This was a convenient and generally good hotel. Housekeeping staff were excellent. The one disappointment was the hold put on my credit card for all five rooms booked (for a hockey team) a day before arrival (and day of arrival). I had informed the hotel ahead of time that each room would be paid for by a separate person, to avoid this very situation, yet this was done anyway. When I brought this to the attention of the reservations manager, I was told very rudely that this was necessary to ensure the rooms were paid for. The only way I could "release" the multiple holds on my card totalling over $4700, which maxed out my credit card and left me unable to use the card while on holiday, was to apparently fully pay for my own room halfway through my stay. This was offered as some sort of favour, in an incredibly patronizing manner. I remained polite throughout despite the "let me explain to you" lecturing tone she took throughout as if I didn't understand English. I then subsequently found out the hotel ALSO put a hold on the same rooms using the 4 credit cards provided by my team mates upon check in. The holds were finally lifted after half an hour of "this is what all hotels do" and "I really shouldn't be doing this." I noticed a lot of overseas visitors from Asia coming through the hotel and wondered if she simply assumed things she shouldn't.
