As with most hotels in the area, the property is aging. It is clean, and the beds are comfortable. The hotel staff are super friendly, and - if you do Banff properly - you're really not in your room much, anyway. Not that there was anything wrong with the room.
The bathroom is very small with no counterspace (hardly room for a toothbrush! LOL!). While that isn't a problem for me/us, for others, it might be. The shower, however, is great! The water pressure and water temperature were just right.
There is a bar fridge and a coffee maker in the room. There is no microwave. Again, not a problem for us, but this information may help someone.
There are black-out blinds, which my daughter loved.
Would I recommend that you stay here? 100%. It's very close to downtown, to a grocery store, and the bus stops right in front (I think?). The ski shuttle(s) also stopped here. We parked OUR vehicle and left it there all weekend, which was what our plan was all along. If you are looking for something fancy, then this is not your property. But if you're looking for a comfortable, friendly, well-located stay in Banff, then I would book here.
