Alongside Dogo Onsen and Arima Onsen, Shirahama Onsen is known as one of Japan's 3 famous ancient hot springs. Overlooking pristine beaches, Shirahama is home to many inns and hotels, making it a magnet for tourists from the Kansai region when summer comes around.

Whether you want to enjoy an open-air bath with a view, a extraordinary spa experience, or luxurious local seafood dishes, you'll be able to find the perfect destination here. You don't necessarily need to stay overnight, either, as many of Shirahama's facilities are available for day use. This is an old-fashioned resort area that's been brought up to date, and with impressed visitors flooding in, the results speak for themselves.
