Staff we're great and friendly. The hotel needs lots of work doing on it. Well over priced for the accommodation in its present state. Parking was easy to find behind the hotel on a payment metre £12 for 24 hours.

Met all our needs

It was located in the town centre with convenient adjacent pay and display car park. The staff were very friendly and made sure we were well looked after. The room was simple but spacious, and the bed comfortable.

Overall not bad. Very disappointing when the bar closed at 18:30. Staff were very good and they were very friendly. Excellent breakfast for the price.

8/10 Very good

Staff were excellent. In the heart of filey itself, out of the door and straight onto the street with a variety of shops to please everyone. Breakfast was an add on price as was the parking. Downsides were the steep stairs to the room and a very noisy pub opposite. Would definitely stay again but for less mobile guests its not ideal.

staff great breakfast gd bed not comfortable atall

staff are friendly and very welcoming, breakfast was good the room was clean. the only thing I would say is that the beds were not comfortable and could do with being updated. some entertainment was missing, would have been nice to have this in the evenings.

2/10 Poor

This hotel could collapse while you sit on the loo, which is certainly not horizontal. Rotting window frames, bed supported by piece of timber beneath centre of base. Peeling wallpaper, collapsing shower, no hairier, no lift, it’s simply the most delapidated dump I’ve ever experienced and costs nearly £100 per night. The staff are cheerful and pleasant, they deserve to work for an establishment that actually cares about it’s customers wellbeing

The pub itself was clean & respectable, child friendly/dog friendly, ordered food to eat in the afternoon which was very nice (cut off point 2:30/3pm for food) Staff were extremely friendly & helpful, Strict check in times of between 12/5pm - checkout time also extremely strict, expected to leave the property before 10am. The cleanliness of the room was at a terrible level, cobwebs everywhere, wallpaper hanging off the walls, there'was mould on the inside of the sash window that only opens roughly about an inch for ventilation when the heating is on as a constant from early afternoon until close of business, the Kettle was so riddled in timescale there was no way I was using it (thankfully I had a travel kettle) the unit that the TV was on was absolutely thick with dust as was the TV (I left evidence of how dirty this was by using an anti Bac Wipes both on cabinet & window ledge that I doubt has been cleaned in a very very long time) the toilet moved away from the wall at every use, the taps in the bathroom were riddled in limescale/mould, the toilet moved away from the wall on every use, the bath was in a very tatty state, filler had been used in places to fix holes/cracks, shower has black mould in cubicle. There was no free WiFi as as advertised also was expected to pay for parking thru Smart Parking however area number didn't exist thru the app also signs state patrons of Three Tuns Hotel are able to park in the car park free of charge, £25 extra cost for 48hrs parking.

Misleading Description of Features

The staff were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. While the stairs were narrow and difficult for someone of limited mobility, the nature of the building makes this understandable. However, there were features advertised that were not in practice available. Parking Available - there is a pay & display public car park that adds £10 per day. Had this been clear we would not have stayed here. Bar - the bar is only available if the town itself is busy. While I wouldn’t expect it to be open 24/7 it is very disappointing for it to close in the afternoon and therefore not available to guests staying in the hotel in the evening. Restaurant - again, like the bar only opens if the town is busy, and only in the afternoon. Even when it was busy in the evening, food was no longer available. This is again disappointing for those staying in the hotel, forcing you to try and find a meal nearby. Breakfast - while available and of reasonable quality, the price of £8 was far too high for what was offered. Also, there was a note saying towels were not provided only for us to be provided with towels. Overall a very disappointing place to stay. We selected this based on features it advertised that in practice turned out to not be available. Had that been clear, we would not have stayed there. I would not recommend staying there to anyone.

Staff lovely but cleanliness is poor. Cobwebs and dirt everywhere you look. It's a bit of shame as it could be lovely.

Very run down and dirty. Needs a major overhaul. Dust, dirt and cobwebs everywhere. Bedding and towels were clean or we definitely would have left. One night was enough!!! Staff great, but weird seeing them walking around in nightwear, and next to nothing making their way to shared bathroom!

The hotel was so dirty . The bed itself was mouldy and the headboard was all ripped. There was mold and cobwebs everywhere. You have to pay an extra 12.50 for parking. The toilet was half on its side and had to be shared by everyone on the landing. The pub across the road had a live band on until midnight so there was no way of sleeping until then. I’ve never stayed somewhere as bad as this! Horrific comes to mind!

Our stay was good apart from one of the beds which was not at all comfortable, bit outdated but somewhere to put head down, breakfast its self was lovely, but my daughter does not drink hot drinks so it had to be cordial no fresh orange juice offered, all considered would not put me off staying again staff fantastic.

Stay at Three Tuns Filey

There was rubbish under one of the beds. The car park was privately run and as the parking meter was not working and there was no way of paying for some of the time we were there, we now risk a parking fine.
