This property appears slightly run down on the outside and felt a little sketchy upon arrival. Reception area is okay and upstairs hallway is "college dorm" ordinary. I don't believe there's an elevator to the second floor. That said, our room was comfortable and clean. The AC cools well. The bathroom fixtures were fine. The shower got hot quickly (although it was dripping when we arrived and took a lot of torque to turn off completely) and it had good water pressure. No complaints about the room. It's not fancy, but it's completely fine. Five minute drive from the Arsenal Mall, which was super convenient for dinner, and across the street from a very popular walking/biking trail along the river. I would consider staying there again.

Had a very nice stay at the Charles River Inn. Friendly staff. They are conveniently located off the main route into Boston and only a 5 min. drive from BU. There is ample parking and a McDonalds and ihop are within walking distance. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It's an older building, so there is no elevator. Shower water pressure is exceptional. I would stay there again, whenever I'm in Boston.

The room was minimally clean with poor repairs in the bathrooms. We were told after our stay that the Charles River Inn is mostly for unhoused people long-term, and that was not too surprising. The beds were comfortable and the parking was ok, though and it was affordable. We checked in late and left in the early AM.
