The hotel was locked when we arrived, with a phone number on the front door to call if we wanted access. It took less than a minute once we called.
Elevator was not working. We were supposed to have a room on the 3rd floor, the man at the desk told us we could cancel without penalty, but we kept the reservation when offered to have a room on the 2nd floor and after seeing the room.
Room was very old but clean, beds were comfortable. Portable air conditioning was efficient. We could hear the people above us moving stuff around for a while once we got in bed, but the night was quiet.
Hotel has a private parking with non automated door, but we did not use it as we had a spot on the side with no parking fees on Sunday.
All that being said, I would probably book here again since the price is so low compared with other hotels in Kenora. When the renovations are done, this could be a nice place.
