If you are a party of walkers that want a nice clean room, a hearty evening meal , with a couple of drinks, and a good extensive breakfast the KHI is for you. If you want an atmospheric pub, I would suggest you consider somewhere else.
The room and bathroom were clean with all the facilities you could reasonably expect for the money.
I had a wonderful 5-day stay at Byre Cottage in North Yorkshire. The cottage is beautiful, cosy, and full of character, with a lovely fireplace that made the evenings especially relaxing and warm.
The location is absolutely stunning, set between peaceful farmland and rolling hills, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Waking up to the fresh countryside air and quiet views each morning was truly refreshing.
It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of the Yorkshire countryside
The house has everything you could need for your stay. It’s so nicely presented and in a village with 3 pubs/restaurants to choose from. There’s plenty of walks in the area which some fantastic views.
The room had everything we needed, but a microwave would have been a bonus. There was a little kitchenette area with a kettle and a fridge and breakfast items for a continental type breakfast. Some of the cereal packets were out of date and the cereal bowls had dried cereal stuck to them. There was a table and four chairs and a settee and a TV in the room.
