The evening attended was amazing, he was very nice and helpful. He welcomed me with all the Italian charm and hospitality. He gave me insight on what restaurant to eat at even thought the options were limited for a traveler without a car. The only issue I had was that theirs was no shuttle service and the taxi prices were pretty pricey from the hotel to the airport because they charge a flat rate. I based my booking on the free airport shuttle. The hotel exceeded my expectations! We arrived by train. The hotel is about a 10 min walk from the train station. There's a short section walking along a busy road (no sidewalk, but a trail), but an easy walk. The hotel room was basic and clean. Comfotable bed, spacious bathroom, some rooms have balconies. A wonderful breakfast buffet. If you are arriving by train, it's a bit difficult to access: too far to walk with luggage. It over 1 km from the train station. If you have a car, it's wonderful. You can walk to town easily without luggage and spend a half-day there.
We arrived at the Poli after a long day driving. It was a wonderfully pleasant surprise. It is clear they have a lot of pride in their hotel; room was spacious and comfortable; staff friendly; priced great; breakfast was fresh with lots of choices. We did not want to drive in Milan so parked at a nearby metro station and it was very easy to get right downtown with no hassles. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

We drove from Munich, Germany for a wedding to Lago Maggiore. Looking for hotels in Stresa, we found out that the prices where not very fair and quite expensive for something nice. Looking through hotels.com we found a brand new hotel which opened only in May 25th and seemed to be very modern and luxusrious with a great value.
