"The Anchor Inn is an absolute gem!
The rooms are a good size and well-appointed, if perhaps a little dated.
Super friendly and accommodating staff, nothing was too much trouble.
The real surprise was the restaurant. I would recommend trying out the food, even if you're not staying at the Inn. The food was locally sourced, all fresh and well prepared and presented.
All in all a very pleasant two night stay.

Just be aware no local public transportation except taxi which have limited availability. Wasnt a big issue but if you want to go into Plymouth it was £25 each way to the train station with one train an hour. We brought our telescope but unfortunately had cloud cover but would be a perfect location for evening of star gazing "

"We booked very last minute, due to an unforeseen problem with our holiday cottage. When we arrived it was literally 5 mis before they stopped serving food BUT the chap said I'll go and ask the chef .,. He did and we enjoyed a very hearty excellent steak and ale pie each. Absolutely delicious, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast cooked to order and v attentive staff throughout."

"Although we didn't get to meet our hostess, the owner/host and his staff were fantastic. The pub was cosy and clean and extremely reasonably priced and the service was amazing. Very pleasant and friendly people who genuinely cared about making our stay pleasurable.

"Hotel was lovely, had everything we liked. Lovely outside area, pool and we even enjoyed the pool table. The food was fantastic 5 star and really made our stay. Would definitely go back again. Only one thing that could possibly make stay even better is a little fan in the rooms when it’s super hot, especially on ground floor. "

"We had a lovely relaxing stay and had plenty of time to enjoy the nice pool.
The bed was large and very comfortable so slept well. We didn’t eat at the restaurant as it wasn’t overly tempting for a vegetarian.

They had thought of everything. There evening wine glasses and bottle opener in our room. Fresh milk. Fantastic advice about the local area and our days walking the next day. They even gave us a walking pole for the next day. Breakfast was delicious. They were so accommodating and kind."
