"The hotel is located in the village of Blockley, one of our favourite villages in the Cotswolds, as it is completely untouristy and truly charming. It is also very close to other villages, all easily reachable within 10–15 minutes by car. The hotel rooms are a bit dated, but the staff were extremely kind and even upgraded our room, giving us a very lovely and comfortable accommodation. Breakfast, ordered from the menu, was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay"

It felt very safe though - staff and locals using the bar were all very friendly and there were no problems with noise at all. Clean and comfortable room too.

"I found sleep very difficult as there seemed to be a very noisy boiler (caldera) in my room or very close to the bed. This made noise for most of the night.
I asked reception to call me a taxi and they would not, I was just given a list of companies I could call.

The room was hot but we are in a heat wave and they provide a fan which we made full use of! Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good. Offered us home made biscuits and coffee when we arrived, even though we were a bit early. The room was large and clean with a nice bathroom and coffee/tea in the room too. Breakfast was wonderful also. A short walk into town, maybe 15 minutes if that. Would highly recommend this to anyone. "
