Lille would not be destination for me, but it is a good stay-over point from central France to Amsterdam. The Grand Plaza is a great place to eat lunch at a café. The Nouveau Siecle area where the millennials gather is close to the hotel. The Old City is nice, but too much modern construction is encroaching. Hotel is a converted monastery. Very nice and open.
