Premier Inn Düsseldorf City Friedrichstadt
8/10 Good
"Stayed in a Premier Plus room on a short solo trip. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. They even offer different pillows if the ones on the bed are not to your firmness preference. I really just wanted a room with a mini-fridge so I could have cold drinks and food for late nights. I enjoyed my stay here and would consider this hotel again if I am ever back in the city. My only complaints are there that was no tissue, the hand soap ran out, and that the thermostat / air conditioning was hard to figure out. I would always turn on the AC when I got back to my room. There would be loud noises which sounded like it was coming from the walls or ceiling (which I thought was the AC working), but the room never really felt like it got much cooler to the point where I slept without using the duvet. Must be EU eco laws or something. Overall, a nice stay in a centrally located hotel."
Maritim Hotel Köln
10/10 Excellent
"Staff were helpful and the breakfast had quite good options for vegans and vegetarians. The room was lovely, it was nice to be able to use the fridge to store drinks and snacks. The hotel is close to several kiosk shops as well as having its own small shop."
Hotel Mondial am Dom Cologne - MGallery
8/10 Good
"Great location close to the Dom and the train station. Easy walk to the river. Room was a bit stuffy but that seems common in Europe. was able to open the window but let the street noise in. No “do not disturb”sign in the room. Weird. to housekeeping kept walking in while I was watching Netflix with headphones on. Bit awkward. Tried to call reception several times to cancel cleaning but never any answer."
Dorint An der Messe Köln
8/10 Good
"First off, the receptionist at my checking and later in the day was a woman named Joan. She was outstanding and met and exceeded my expectations. I saw her work with a team member to help another customer. Please let Joan know I appreciate her service. My room service meal was not as expected. The food arrived a bit warm (pizza) and my bottle of coke was inoperable as a bottle cap remover was not made available on the tray or in my room. Breakfast was outstanding."
Clayton Hotel Düsseldorf City Centre
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel was in an excellent location. 10 minutes walk from the station, right in the heart of Little Tokyo. Also a 15 minute walk to the river and centre of Dusseldorf. Breakfast was amazing. A lot of choice."
Novotel Köln City
10/10 Excellent
"Very tidy hotel with friendly and helpful staff."
Dorint Hotel am Heumarkt Köln
8/10 Good
"Hotel was in a great location and was very clean. Staff were very friendly and the hotel was in wonderful . I only gave it a 4 because the room was pretty stuffy even though we turned the air all the way down it didn't seem to get very coo and we are hot natured . Otherwise everything was perfect!"
Excelsior Hotel Ernst am Dom
8/10 Good
"We dropped off our luggage early. Our rooms were not ready, but of course we did not expect them to be because it wasn't 3:00 pm yet. We went out and came back to the hotel around 3:30. Neither room was ready. Hmmm. The kind man at the front/concierge desk offered us drink vouchers for the wait and promised the rooms would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Okay. We went away and came back about an hour later. Rooms STILL not ready, but the front desk said they would be ready in about 5 min. When we finally did get into our rooms, our luggage, which was supposed to be waiting for us, was not there and we had to call the front desk to ask for it. Our room had robes but no slippers; oddly, our traveling companions' room did have slippers. The rooms were lovely and quiet but the shower sprayed water everywhere. Bar service was wonderful. I'd probably stay here again but honestly was annoyed that our rooms were not ready for over 1.5 hours past check-in time."
Steigenberger Hotel Köln
10/10 Excellent
"A terrific hotel and an amazing staff."
