BAD:
- if you like a coffee after breakfast the charges are extremely high (you get it from the same machine where you get your morning coffee for free)
- charges in general for drinks are very high
- they don't take American Express
This hotel was hard to find. Located in the center of the city (photo looks like a different location). Google maps took us to another location. Go through their website to get directions! Staff here is GREAT!!! Friendly, helpful, and just nice people. Room was nice and very clean! Breakfast was excellent.
The location of the hotel is in a quiet part of the city Garmisch-Partenkirchen only 5 minutes by foot to the pedestrian area with many shops and restaurants. Hotel staff was very friendly. Breakfast and dinner (half board) was excellent. So many things are well considered and taken care of by the hotel staff, e.g. in the morning our car was cleaning from snow falling through the night. Our room was spacy and recently renovated.
Wonderful to be back at Das Graseck! It's a truly magical corner of the earth, our second visit and for sure we will be back in the winter months. The staff are exceptionally attentive, friendly and professional with a good old sense of humour!
Upon arrival, we were welcomed back and also, surprised with an upgrade to the loft suite, which made our stay super comfy and, of course the extra space and views were magnificent. Excellent breakfasts and dinner service, super selection of wines....
The property was located in one of the prettiest towns I’ve ever been in. A plus is there is a hike that leads to some amazing views along the river. You get to hike through caves and over multiple bridges (was freaking dope).
Expedia noted laundry but there was no laundry available on site.
Amazing view from our balcony! Staff very helpful. Beds okay. Walking distance to Lake Eibsee (~2.5 miles via trails) if you enjoy walking (also to the lift to go up Zugspitze). Driving distance to Garmisch-Partenkirchen for more reasonably priced food. Breakfast very good and worth the extra 15 Euros. Enjoy!
We originally booked and payed for an apartment but due to maintenance issues, the hotel substituted the apartment for two individual rooms sharing a balcony and threw in a complimentary breakfast. Breakfast had a good range of choices and nice surroundings, but service had much to be desired since we waited 15 minutes for someone to come wipe down the table we were going to sit at even though we brought it to the attention of front desk several times. We stayed for a little over a week and had a wonderful experience! The location was amazing - close to the train station and walkable to pretty much everywhere. The cleaning staff did an excellent job every day cleaning the room. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming! Breakfast buffet was your typical European breakfast with lots to choose from! They had the best raspberry jam every morning! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
The hotel was in an excellent location and the staff, particularly Dami (?), was very kind and helpful. The breakfast offerings were unbelievable--definitely take advantage of that. Also, make sure to take a bike to the castle. It's a lovely bike ride and easier to manage. Just really pay attention to the warnings to get there 1.5-2 hours in advance. A very nice Bavarian hotel that is thoroughly modern and updated. The room was roomy, incredible view from the balcony, excellent full breakfast. Staff was very helpful and showed us the easy way to walk to the main street (only 15 minute walk) and showed us some nice walking paths to explore the area.
