"Beside the building is aged, but everything else is awesome. You get to experience how public bath work in Japan. Breakfast is good as well. Stuff dont speak English but they have translation app all handy. If you wake up at early morning, you get to experience Fuji mountain right out from your room. "Breakfast at the Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato was outstanding. One day we got a multicourse Japanese breakfast, and the other day a western one. Both were excellent, but the Japanese breakfast was amazing, esepcially since it was something we were not anticipating. I and my wife are foodies and extremely adventurous omnivores. Discounting buffet breakfasts in five-star hotels, where just the sheer variety overwhelms, we concurred that we had never had breakfast at any hotel anywhere in the world as good as what the Lakeland offered — in spread, quality, taste, and presentation. A solid 10/10. The rooms are very spacious, the interiors are reminiscent of early Japanese modern architecture, the staff is very professional and courteous. Especially notable is the traditional Japanese living space with tatami mats and washi walls, perfect for tea and relaxation. Our room had an unencumbered view of Lake Kawaguchiko to boot. We didn't use the public bath for lack of time, but hope to on another visit."

"Run down and the rooms were not clean. You also can not control the temperature to cool down the room, only heat it so it was very hot. Breakfast doesn’t start until 7 am and you need to wait in line awhile to get in. Not a great experience."

"The hotel is definitely old and in need of Reno’s. We stayed in one of the side buildings, which was incredibly dusty, we ended up sleeping with masks and vick vapour rub every night. Waking up with sore throats and the worst congestion. The beds are horrible, very hard, can feel the springs stabbing you in the back, I woke up the first night at 4am with a horrible migraine from the springs in my back and ended up sleeping on a two seater couch for the remainder of my stay. Asked for an extra pillow, was declined. Breakfast and dinner buffet was good selection and staff was nice to us. "

"Room was clean and up to standards but the steps from the bathroom hurt my husband’s heels and mine too when we were going to the bathroom at night. People are nice though especially at receptionist"
