"Staff were lovely and very helpful. There was free parking on site, which was a bonus. Breakfast was very good and plentiful including, eggs however you like them, ham and cheese, yoghurt, fruit, cereal, toast and jam, croissants and pain au chocolate. Very nice.

"It's a lovely hotel in a listed building so no lift just winding stairs so it's probably not for people with limited mobility or vast amounts of luggage although the manager did get a member of staff to carry my case to my room while I was checking in.

"It was great, had everything we needed, super clean and the people at the desk were super nice. 30 min walk to oxford or you can take the bus for 5 pounds for a day paas or 2.80 single ride. You catch the bus right outside the hotel."

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Black Boy. Both rooms were clean and had everything we needed; comfy beds, coffee/tea and friendly staff. We enjoyed a full English breakfast (not included in the room price) and a lovely dinner. The food was excellent. We were lucky to secure a parking spot right in front of the Inn; be aware that parking is limited. This was a perfect place to stay and explore Oxford; the neighborhood was quiet and away from the busy city. We enjoyed a walk after dinner...
Truly excellent hotel with fantastic service. Food was best I have had in a hotel for years. Room was small but very well appointed and spotless. This is probably one of the best hotels to stay in Oxford. Well located, just a short walk to the city center.

We were so happy to book a family room (for couple with 2 kids) the day of our arrival into Oxford. The room was spacious and the AC was a welcomed relief with the heatwave. Very clean and spacious. A truly delightful hotel in a convenient location with excellent staff and facilities. Impossible to fault overall - 2 tips… dont park under the trees in front of the building. I dont know what the birds eat, but they eat A LOT of it. Then theres steps….pack light, you’ll be hauling your luggage up a LOT of steps :-) - its a 13th century manor house, lifts werent a “thing” !
Friendly and welcoming staff (the ladies on reception and at breakfast) made it for me as a solo traveller. The quality of the food was exceptional; I had the truffle arancini and goats cheese brioche for room service and it was absolutely delicious. Beautiful breakfast. Lovely designed hotel with great location and easy parking.
Beautiful location in the countryside, in a sweet town that was fun to walk around and enjoy the peacefulness. Breakfast was great, and the staff were all very friendly.

We loved this hotel as it is well positioned in Oxford. We were met as we drove up by the valet who took care of our car. The hotel is in an old prison which was cool. We had rooms in the female prison block which was across the courtyard. The rooms were very comfortable. We had drinks at the bar which was great. Breakfast was delicious and I would recommend getting it as part of your stay. We enjoyed our stay here and would book it again if we returned to Oxford.
