We stayed at the Tango de Mayo Hotel on the backend of a multi-week trip to Argentina, right before heading home. After staying at a larger hotel closer to the Casa Rosada at the beginning of the trip, and then staying at several much smaller boutique hotels in Uruguay, the Tango de Mayo felt like is struck just the right balance between character and convenience. Great location with a lot of bars and restaurants around including local tango schools. The room are nicely don and very comfortable. They key 5 star difference is all about service. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this one provided the best service ever from arranging airport and ferry transfers, reservations, tickets to local events, wake up calls and preparing to go breakfasts when we left before breakfast was served. We loved our stay at Krista Boutique Hotel!! The location is central to many walkable sites, great cafes and restaurants. We used the taxi service offered by the hotel when we landed and it was seamless. We also took advantage of massages by Da’hiana and Sabastian and they were the best we’ve had. The breakfast offering was delicious and the evening cocktail was a worderful way to relax for the evening before the evening explorations began. Truly a wonderful experience all the way around.
