Great value if you need to stay in this area. The rooms are decent size, clean, no bad odor. The view from the 10th floor was pretty nice. Public bath was very nice. Breakfast buffet was included and had a good selection that was different on both days I used it. The restaurant was a bit hard to use at dinner because i was supposed to use a QR code but it just wasn't working on my phone but the server took my order manually. Staff was always friendly. Would definitely stay again if I ever come...

This was our first stay at a rhyokan (spelling!)and we were blown away by the beauty, The comfort (personally I felt sleeping on tatami mats on a futon perfect). The attentive service was welcoming and spot on. We ate breakfast and dinner here and the local food was abundant, gorgeously presented and flavorful. We had a room with a private Onsen on a deck. Highly recommend. This was a unique, peak experience and I am a seasoned traveler. Do it.

Maybe the nicest hotel we've ever stayed in! The room was nice, but what really made this so special was the amenities: a lounge that serves beer and snacks, shared and private onsen (hot tubs), shuttle to Kyoto station, luggage transport service, free late-night ramen... all for free! An amazing and unique traditional stay in a small town outside of Kyoto. It is secluded and we were still able travel to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Kobe. Public transportation is provided multiple time every morning, and although I did a lot I highly recommend walking around the trails, and temples. Amazing stay and easy communication via Hotels.com booking site! We got dropped off at the wrong location by our taxi and ended up pushing our giant tourist suitcases up the hill!
