"I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It's a small guest house with about 9-10 rooms. It's all been refurbished to look like it might have 300 years ago. It's so beautiful and quaint. The location is central. Above all, the staff was very wonderful, super attentive, and very friendly. If you open up to them and befriend them, they treat you like royalty!!"

"Shakya House is in walking distance......10 minutes at most from Durbar Square. The walk itself is very interesting as it is the very old area of Patan and every moment there are amazing sights to see. It is also only 10/15 minute from a large supermarket that has everything you my need. It is well worth the stay as the owner and the staff are very welcoming and will do anything to help. As the sign says... come as a guest and leave as a friend."

"I stayed in a twin room with private bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable and even came with built in wardrobe. The hosts are wonderful and made breakfast in the morning. It's a peaceful place with a 3rd floor terrace that has a beautiful view of the city.

When the power went out several times, as it is prone to do occasionally in Kathmandu, the generator kicked in immediately. Heater worked well, for the cool nights. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Food at breakfast and dinner was great. So was the coffee. I will stay here again."
