We loved our three night stay at Memoria Porto. The staff treated us like royalty and our room overlooked the Douro River. One tip, we can offer is to take the # 500 bus to the coast and pay a lot less for authentic Portugese food, wine, and beer. We will definitely be back. They noticed that my husband had a birthday that day. The hotel is in the center of the city, next to Sao Bento train station that we used for reaching close-by towns - Braga, Aveiro. I had a great stay here for 3 days. The staff was so kind and helpful and the breakfast they brought to your room every morning was delicious! It was a nice, small boutique hotel. My room was the first one off the lobby so I didn't get to see much else, but from what I saw, the building was beautiful! I had a great view from my room with a balcony.

We like this hotel. It's located outside of the super busy and congested areas of old town, but it's still accessible by Metro (the station is across the street) or a cheap BOLT ride. The streets are FLAT! It's a 20 minute walk to old town with interesting architecture and shops along the way.
