"Its a very traditional, older chalet and amenities are in line with older style places. The staff were faultless, helpful, courteous and tolerant of our coming and going. Its a hike to get there but the free railway, if you have the time, saves on cab fares. Food is fresh and its very popular for dinner with everyone in town and the views are terrific.. "Hotel Rene Capt was an absolute joy. More than we'd hoped for in terms of a lovely Belle Epoque hotel on the lake. Dining on the terrace was superb. The staff were immensely helpful. Perhaps best of all was the garden for a quiet read - with Lake Geneva just across the pedestrian promenade."

The rooms are in urgent need of refurbishment to meet the standards expected at the price they charge. Here are my main gripes; No bath robes (only slippers - why?) No tea/coffee facilities Radiators don't work properly, have to use noisy ancient aircon on high to heat the room. No sockets take universal adaptors in the room, only socket that does is the shaver socket in the...

"This is our second time at Bon Rivage and we enjoyed it. Its practial to stay there if you want to visit Vevey and Bouveret. Its great for families with nice spacious rooms. The location is very good with a beautiful scenery. We will definitely go back."
