The historic Tower Theatre hosts live performances while the Deschutes River flows nearby, offering scenic trails along Drake Park. Bond Street's brick facades house art galleries and cozy cafes where locals and travelers mingle beneath mountain views. Finding a bite to eat is easy with brewpubs and eateries offering local flavors throughout the walkable core. Boutique hotels and modern inns provide comfortable stays with mountain-themed decor. No car needed here—wide sidewalks make exploring this compact district a breeze.

Old Mill District
The Old Mill District brings Bend's industrial past into an artistic present with red brick smokestacks towering over riverside galleries and boutiques. Pedestrian bridges criss-cross the rushing Deschutes River, connecting walkways dotted with sculptures where the sound of flowing water mixes with live music. The Les Schwab Amphitheater draws crowds for outdoor concerts while nearby paths invite casual strolls. Dining options range from casual riverside cafes to upscale farm-to-table spots featuring local craft beer. Though limited lodging exists within the district itself, nearby hotels and vacation rentals put you within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and river activities. The area's excellent walkability and ample parking make exploring this creative hub a breeze.

Sunriver
Sunriver delivers outdoor adventure with over 40 miles of paved bike paths winding through pristine forest. The Deschutes River beckons with swimming holes and fishing spots, while championship golf courses cater to players of all levels. Kids splash at the SHARC aquatic center with pools and slides, and nature lovers explore wildlife exhibits at the Sunriver Nature Center. The Village at Sunriver offers everything from casual dining to shopping for outdoor gear. Most visitors stay in vacation rentals with full kitchens and private decks, though lodge rooms are available too. Getting around is a breeze with rental bikes and golf carts connecting all areas of this 3,300-acre resort community.

River West

Stroll tree-lined streets to discover craft breweries and hip cafes lining Galveston Avenue. The neighborhood's crown jewel is its direct access to riverside trails where mountain views and rushing water create a perfect backdrop for morning walks or sunset strolls. Getting around is best done on foot or by bike, with most attractions within easy walking distance. Accommodation options include cozy vacation rentals and boutique bed & breakfasts tucked into quiet streets. For dining, expect Pacific Northwest farm-to-table cuisine at casual cafes where locals gather to swap trail tips.

Hike among ancient lava flows at Newberry National Volcanic Monument or explore underground lava tubes at nearby caves. Winter brings skiers and snowboarders to Mt. Bachelor, while mountain bikers claim hundreds of miles of singletrack when snow melts. Drake Park's mirror pond reflects the changing seasons, and the High Desert Museum showcases wildlife encounters alongside regional history. Don't miss Tumalo Falls, where the water plunges dramatically through pine-scented forest.

Days Inn by Wyndham Bend
"Literal hole in the floor showing foundation"
Campfire Hotel
"Staff were very helpful when checking in and discussing wild fired in the area. Parking was okay. Hotel was themed brilliantly and in a great location. Close to the last ever blockbuster and lots of food options. Pool was good and a firepit at the bottom of the carpark thats lit everynight was great to sit around. Shop and bar on site. Plenty of refreshments in rooms. Rooms were very comfortable and modern with a rustic feel. Would definitely stay here again. Favourite hotel of our trip. Also a great breakfast burrito and coffee van on site."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bend South by IHG
"My stay at this Holiday Inn was outstanding and exactly what I look for in a hotel. The property appeared clean and well maintained, from the exterior and lobby to the guest room. Everything was in good condition and gave a positive first impression. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. When I requested additional towels, they were happy to provide them without any hesitation. One thing to be aware of is that the parking area is somewhat tight. There is only one entrance and exit, so if you are driving a larger or longer vehicle, it may take a little extra planning and maneuvering. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and smelled fresh. Overall, I had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend this Holiday Inn to others."
Sugarloaf Mt Motel
"Room was clean. Front desk guy wasn't very happy but did make him laugh to lighten his mood."

"Pros : Very nice! Comfortable, roomy. Well furnished. Staff. Cons: location of AC - under sink. All cold air floods area under sink but little penetration into room. Near zero water pressure. Not a hotel! Maybe upscale motel. Parking. Be sure to ask for housekeeping. Overall-4 Stars"

La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Bend
"Stay was very good, did have 1 issue with bathroom fan as it was making bad noises, problem was that fan cover was completely blocked by lint and it was affecting the fan itself. I cleaned it out best I could and notified front desk."
