My wife and I usually stay at the well known chain hotels. Our experience at the Town Hall Inn changed all that. We stayed three nights while exploring the Black Hills which are wonderful. The hotel is in an ideal location. Our room was perfect. The owners were charming, attentive to our needs, and a font of information about the local area. There's lots to see and do close by including some great restaurants, Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore etc. Don't forget to drive the "Needles Highway!" We'll...
The Lantern Inn is not a big chain hotel, which is part of its charm. Nestled in the Black Hills, the views from our balcony were breathtaking! The hotel is located near the end of the town... quiet, but still walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our room was clean and spacious, with a nice bench outside our door on the balcony to take in the scenery... but the best thing about this place is the staff. Family-owned, I assume, this hotel has the nicest, most genuinely friendly front desk...
Could not recommend more. The hotel was clean and had a nice hot breakfast. The service at the front desk was above and beyond. We mostly saw Mario, who was always happy to greet us, no matter the hour or what he was doing.
The location could not be better. The town of Hill City itself has so much to offer. It is also a short distance from all the local attractions we saw (Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Rapid City, Bear Country, Sylvan Lake, etc). We will definitely be back!
All the hotels in Rapid were full or super expensive, so we took a chance on this one and we were pleasantly surprised! Beds were extremely comfy and it was the cleanest hotel bathroom I’ve ever seen (honestly)! The view behind the hotel is pretty. Great value and our family would definitely stay here again.
First of all, we stayed in one of the "executive lodges" so our experience may be slightly different than if we stayed in one of the standard rooms in the main lodge. However, we had an absolutely awesome time. The cabin was big, well appointed, and super comfortable. Each of the three bedrooms had very comfortable beds, but there was so much to do and we were so exhausted that we probably could have slept on the floor and been comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and truly...
The hotel lobby is very warm and well decorated for the season. Business center is convenient. Hotel room is nice, especially the bath tub shower room. Wow! There are even two pillows either soft or hard well marked for us to choose.
