Hulmeville
Historic Hulmeville invites you to stroll tree-lined streets where colonial charm meets small-town warmth. The weathered stone walls of Hulmeville Inn (est. 1799) anchor this peaceful borough along Neshaminy Creek. Well-preserved 18th-century homes with original details transport visitors back to early America's quieter moments. When you're ready to explore beyond, Sesame Place and Parx Casino are just a short drive away. Limited dining focuses on casual American fare in tavern atmospheres with most spots closing early. Accommodations center around cozy bed and breakfasts in historic buildings. Though car-dependent with minimal public transit, the compact historic core is perfect for peaceful walks among mature trees and creek-side paths.

Penndel
Penndel offers a laid-back suburban escape just a train ride away from Philadelphia's hustle. Families love the peaceful tree-lined streets and easy access to nearby attractions like Sesame Place and Neshaminy Mall. The small borough gives visitors a taste of authentic American suburban living without the tourist crowds. Local family-owned restaurants and pizza shops provide casual dining options without breaking the bank. The SEPTA regional rail station makes Philadelphia just a 30-minute ride away, though having a car helps explore the surrounding area. Budget-friendly motels and small inns make this a smart base for cost-conscious travelers.

Penn's View Hotel Philadelphia
"convenient parking right next door to the hotel."
Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City
"Great location....comfy beds....next door to Reading Terminal market! Close to Septa station. Great experience 👍"
Club Quarters Hotel Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia
"Our only complaint was that we had difficulty adding a night to our stay. The women at the front desk around 6:45pm 10/15 told us they couldn’t do it on site because we booked through Hotels.com. When I checked the Hotels.com website, it said I needed to extend the reservation with the hotel. Catch 22. I had to book a new reservation for one night."
Aloft by Marriott Philadelphia Downtown
"Everything was amazing from the front desk to the bartender. Incredible view. The central location made everything so accessible and fun to walk around. Valet was Incredible as well. I cant say enough about the wonderful staff and stay."
The Windsor Suites
"Loved it"
Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Downtown
"The hotel was beautiful, and its central location was a major plus, with a train and trolley station conveniently nearby (walking distance). The breakfast was also delicious and definitely a highlight of the stay. The restaurant staff were consistently very kind, welcoming, and attentive, and they made an effort to show that they were available and willing to help. In contrast, while the front desk receptionists were cordial, their interactions felt somewhat formal and less welcoming. They often appeared serious and made limited eye contact, which made it difficult to tell whether they had noticed guests waiting or were available to answer questions. A little more proactive acknowledgment and warmth at the front desk would have made the overall guest experience even more positive."
Element by Marriott Philadelphia Downtown
"Everything was excellent. We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and attentive."
Motto by Hilton Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square
"This is the second time I have stayed at the Moto. The staff is friendly, helpful and available. My room was very clean with sufficient amenities. As we are in the inner city, the morning noise outside is more than I am accustomed in my neighborhood, but it is not overwhelming. Happy hour at the bar was extended to the dinner time for me and the food, Mexican style was great. I would always stay at the Moto when I am downtown Philadelphia."
Loews Philadelphia Hotel
"The location was excellent for doing tourist stuff. The staff was very attentive. The only gripes I have are that the AC in the room didn't seem to work properly. It was always stuffy when we came back to our room. There was no fan in the bathroom, which causes it to be very steamy and humid in the bathroom after showers. Lastly, the elevators took forever. There were only 3 working. Overall, though, it was lovely."
