Learn more about Robbinsville

Tucked into the Great Smoky Mountains, this tiny mountain town serves as basecamp for outdoor adventures that feel worlds away from civilization. Hike ancient forests in Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, where 400-year-old trees tower overhead like living cathedrals. Kayakers find paradise on Lake Santeetlah's crystal waters, while anglers cast into Snowbird Creek's trout-filled pools. The Junaluska Medicine Trail offers glimpses into Cherokee heritage among fern-covered slopes. Motorcyclists tackle the legendary curves of nearby Deals Gap, nicknamed 'The Dragon' for its 318 turns in 11 miles. After exploring Fontana Lake's hidden coves, return to town where local shops and inns maintain the unhurried pace that makes this Appalachian retreat so restorative.

"The only issue we had was with communication. Front desk staff didn't tell us that you had to schedule room cleaning. So on our third day I called a bit concerned and they told me I had to schedule it. On our 2nd day, we left for the day and I got a call from the front desk saying "you checked out but your stuff is still in the room" and I had to tell her we didn't check out! Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
