Jeff and Jo have done a beautiful job with this 1880 building, preserving its historical character while also making it somehow look new, with fresh paint, unblemished wallpaper, high quality mattresses & linens, etc. A very pleasant stay with great hosts, with fun elements of its 19th century roots.
What a cute place! Our motel room is clean and roomy. It has a nice seating area outside and the people are so kind and helpful. When I asked about a soda machine (which they don’t have) the owner offered to see what she had in her fridge. When she heard we were looking for ginger ale because my son was carsick, she brought over ginger candies! I wish we were staying for more than one night to have more time to enjoy it here.
The room was very spacious and clean. This hotel was extremely quiet and in a beautiful location. We loved our stay here!
I only have one suggestion of hotel staff… please consider putting a large trash can outside in the gazebo area! We among others enjoyed sitting under it to look at the lake and relax, but in the wind lots of things were blowing around loudly that shouldn’t have been there… mainly about 6 old beer cans.if a trash can is there I think this issue would be less likely 🙂...
I don't usually review accommodations, but The Ruby Inn was really special. The owners were so helpful and friendly, the whole place so well-loved and attended, it was a treat to be able to stay there while coming and going from a backpack trip in the Hoover Wilderness. We especially enjoyed a soak in the large hot tub. I really look forward to returning to this lovely motel and wonderful small town!
The hotel was quaint and felt like it was right out of the 1800s. It was also the cheapest room I found within 100 miles by a long shot. Staff interaction was minimal because we arrived late and left early, but they made the process easy by leaving an envelope out for me with a room key. Bed could have been more comfortable, but can't beat the value. Showers were hot. We just wanted a place to crash after hiking all day.
