"The Mark Hopkins is a classic and overall wears its 100+ year-old heritage well. True, some of its original opulence has faded with time and trends, but it's still a great place to stay, especially considering the very reasonable rates. The staff are friendly and professional and the Top of the Mark is still the best view in town. My only complaint is about the air handling in the rooms, which sounds like a jet engine every time it starts up."
