Hotel Uman is a fantastic hotel. We stayed two separate nights on our way to and from Finland. Nice quiet rooms with all the amenities. Lower level garage is very convenient and safe. Hotel Uman is within walking distance of all Umeå museums, university, river walk, shopping and ferry to Vaasa Finland. The food is excellent (breakfast and dinner) and both are free! The staff is superior---very friendly and accommodating. Hotel Uman is the place to stay in Umeå.
The hotel was fun and staff excellent. The breakfast and general location make this a great choice. The hotel itself is quite dark so sometimes felt a little dim and noticed some stains on the floor & tiles in the shower that went unnoticed and probably are clean but looked a bit dirty.
Love this concept by Scandic. Price and amenities are perfect for those looking for value but don’t need all the frills. This location is clean, well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. Lobby/cafe is spacious. Big plus with free washer and dryer.
This was a great hotel for our stay in Umea. Great breakfast buffet, very helpful staff, roomy room, sauna and workout room available, great central location to use as base for exploring area.
Staff was very kind and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was amazing. The room was a little small, but the price wasn't outrageous. The location was close to downtown shopping and public transportation. Reduced-price parking was nice, but spots were taken pretty quickly, depending on the time of day. Overall, I will recommend it to others.
I liked my stay at this hotel. Room was very modern and comfortable, breakfast was amazing and staff was very nice. One minor thing is that you need to request to have your room cleaned or towels changed. Overall a very nice hotel.
Clean, comfortable, great for families with Big Kids Too! My only complaint is the continuous, noisy fan in the bathroom. We kept the door shut to cut down on the noise. It wasn't until our last day that we discovered how to turn the fan off. The switch was in a cupboard in the kitchen. A switch in the bathroom would have been helpful. Overall, we had a great experience.
I would like to recommend this place to anyone who want to experience something more than just another ordinary hotel! You will find a really cool attraction as well as a great nights sleep in one of the former prison cells. The room was clean and quiet. The hotel is beautifully restored and has an amazing vibe! Breakfast was average, but extra pluss though for friendly and helpful staff in the kitchen. There is also a nice little museum which contributes to the experience.
