I stayed at a couple of different places in Mactan. The Grand Golden Hotel will be my "goto" in the future. It's not fancy but is super clean and comfortable at a great price. It offers a wide variety of on premise services like a pool, gym, restaurant, spa and airport shuttle. Room amenities are limited to a few snacks. The staff was terrific. The rooms are spacious. The staffs are really nice even over the phone. The place is clean. Their food was really good. This hotel is good for family or big family gathering, group of friends and also good for couples too.
I enjoyed the hotel, the staff was wonderful and the people who arranged out tours were also wonderful. The neighborhood is a little rough and you’re kind of far away from Cebu city if that’s important to you. I liked the stay and would stay again. And the buffets were delicious.

WOW WOW WOW, I am a pilot and stay in hotels all over the USA. I have been here to Philippines 4 times and this is the most amazing place I have stayed yet. I know its new but it is defiantly a top notch Marriot. All the staff are so amazing and personal. I enjoy all the updated features, ac is perfect, lights are bright and work, shower has HOT Water one thing most hotels here DON'T HAVE ANY OF!!!!!!!!!! I did not know that this resort was undergoing a soft opening upon our visit. We had searched on Agoda and Orbitz and this place kept popping up. Photos looked good and the rates seemed a good value. We booked 4 days 3 nights here in a standard room. Although Google maps took us off-roading we finally got on track and arrived safely. This was my second stay here. It is a great hotel with a fabulous staff. The courtesy pick at the airport was waiting even though our plane was early (yeah, I know karma is going to catch up with me).
All the wall switches are electronic, even automatic curtains, I know, but it was fun.
Hot shower, plenty of water pressure, air conditioner controlled from the bed, send me in coach.
If you are in Cebu or Lapu-Lapu, this is a great place.
Every time my wife and I have stayed here. Not only do we recognize the faces of the staff that we appreciate so much for their friendly hospitality. But staff remembers us and not only treats us as guests but also as friends. There are places that we visit in U.S. on annual basis also but we are not treated anywhere near as well as we are here at Goldberry. For the value for the service for the comfort I give Goldberry five stars. For the staff there are not enough stars in the Milky Way Galaxy...
The service and rooms of the hotel are very nice and clean. The buffet is amazing as well as the roof top pool and bar. This hotel has a lot of nice amenities and the view was outstanding from the room we had. The only thing I could say I didn’t like is when I go outside and walk to the mall across the street, as soon as you turn the corner the smell is awful. I also tried the steakhouse and the food was amazing!! Cooked the way I ordered!! I would definitely stay again.
Amazing hotel with VERY HELPFUL staff. Girl friend forgot where she parked the car, then to top it off she lost the keys. Hotel staff tried to open car once they found it. They were unsuccessful so they arranged a locksmith to open it and make a new key.
