The hotel is easy walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The ease for making arrangements - transportation to other area attractions as well as other locations in Costa Rica - plus COVID testing on site, and thoughtful room design made this a pleasant place to stay. I learned a lot at the lessons I took at the hotel’s surf club.
The Sunset Shack is the perfect place to stay for a surf trip in Nosara! It is quiet and chill compared to other places in the area, and it's a short walk down to the beach. Our room was very comfortable and a perfect size for our family. The staff is so friendly and attentive, and the food at Al Chile is fresh, delicious and nourishing. And reasonably priced. We so enjoyed our daily breakfasts and lunches. We also appreciate that the road is paved by the Sunset Shack as it keeps the dust down...
Perfectly positioned in Playa Guiones - steps to both the beach, and nearby boutiques and restaurants. Ideal spot for a luxury surf vacation, great for families with its residential style rooms. The residences offer a high level of luxury - the refrigerator comes stocked, there's a beautiful living/dining room area, washer/dryer, a sauna on our patio, felt like penthouse style accommodations, but totally immersed in the beauty and nature of Nosara. Simple, unique style; communal but also good for independent travelers who like privacy; great location - closest place to the beach I have stayed in Nosara (has a direct path through the greenery to a central beach location) and right in the middle to go either direction for local spots -- restaurants, surf shops, etc. Highly recommend.
We travel to Nosara once or twice each year. We usually rent homes but really loved our stay at Esh. The staff is wonderful and always ready to help with anything you need at any time. I can't speak highly enough about the staff at Esh! Beautiful property.
The roads getting to the property — and the Nosara area — were incredibly bumpy and rough. Once we arrived it was totally worth it. The staff was very friendly, they helped us with our Spanish, made it easy to schedule rides to town and activities offered. The restsurant was beautiful and the food was fresh and they had light healthy options. There is only 1 restaurant on site, so going into town for some meals was nice (La Luna has the best sunsets ever) The onsite pool were perfect—the views...
What a spectacular location, extremely private and beautiful. The accomodations are absolutely spotless and welcoming staff. But be sure you have four wheel drive or arrange for transportation.

Outstanding staff. Gave us great local recommendations and very attentive. Bungalows are clean, but simple. The property is outside the main tourist spots, but the beaches close by are even better.
The property is split between 2 buildings - a beachside building and another about 2 blocks away. That is why you see pool views and beach views in the listing. We stayed in the inland building with the pool and could not have enjoyed it more. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. The living room furniture left something to be desired, but truly, we did not use it much. The staff were excellent setting up tours for whale watching and turtle egg-laying so we couldn't have been happier with the...
