The staff were among the best and most respectful I have ever encountered in my travels. Gökhan, Emir, and Ali were especially helpful and attentive to our needs. The location was also excellent!
Nice out of the bustle location along the lake. The food was good, the staff very helpful and accommodating. The prices for the food were a bit steep but other than that a nice place to stay.
What I enjoyed the most was the people. Melisa, Reha, Yusuf, Verat, Fatih all my made 5 night stay fun and personable. I did not want to rent a car so they helped me navigate the bus and dulmus to Akdamar Island and into the City Center. I also took an afternoon in the town of Edremet and enjoyed the harbour and shops. The people were amazing and fun - taught me about the local area and a little about Kurdish culture. Van Life Hotel was very nice hotel and I enjoyed my time there. It is clean, quite, in a nice neighborhood close to the city center. The only shortcoming was the air-conditioning which sometimes worked and some other times did not. However, the time I was there it was not so hot and being in upper floors helped with air-conditioning.
The continental breakfast was very good. The 'otel' is in middle of city center with lots of shops and restaurants.
Nice clean comfortable bed in a small 1-bedroom studio with a wet-bar.

The staff were so kind. They immediately offered tea while we were in the lobby. They offered help and assistance with everything. Checkin was fast. They upgraded our room. Breakfast on the top floor was great. Air conditioner worked well. Only downside was it was buried deep in the shopping district so it was inconvenient driving to and from the hotel in the congested streets. Big bonus: They had a private parking lot right in front of the hotel.
