"I wish we would have planned more time here vs at the coast. Cohune Palms was the highlight of our Belize trip. This place was paradise!! We were reluctant at first due to no a/c but the weather cooled off at night and was perfect. Fans during the day kept everything enjoyable. The river next to the resort was beautiful and a blast to swim in and enjoy the rope swing. We have 50x the mosquitos here in California…with a little bug spray you barely even notice them there. We saw howler monkeys, spider monkeys (I think, it was not a howler that’s all I know lol) fire beetles glowing in the palm trees, agouti’s, roadrunners, Toucans, all on the property. My kids had so much fun playing in the river and the rope swing. They would have been content not seeing anything else in San Ignacio and just staying there all day.
