Rooms were clean with good bathrooms, breakfast was great, the bar was open and if you didn’t fancy a 30 minute walk into the centre of Ypres, a taxi ride was €15. So much to see in the area. Staff were great and really helpful. Not fancy but a perfect base."

"Talbot house was a rest home for allied military members in WW 1. History lives here. Extensive walled gardens with large trees, flower beds & walkways. Small museum on site. Mix of volunteers and paid staff look after you. Close to Menin Gate & Canada's Brooding Soldier. Very cool spot to have stayed at and Poperinge is a lovely town. "
