We stayed with our adult children at the Hotel Obermaier during Octoberfest. It was all that we had hoped for. It is a traditional hotel with a good restaurant attached. It is convenient by Metro to downtown Munich. It is much more reasonably priced than closer-in hotels. Our room and bathroom were comfortable. The breakfast was unbelievably generous and delicious. We will definitely stay at the Hotel Obermaier if we are fortunate enough to return to Munich, particularly during Octoberfest.

We picked the end of September to stay at the hotel. Since the hotel does not have air conditioning we were concerned, but at the end of September, the weather was perfect! The room was really cool and they provided a fan before we checked in. Could not have asked for a better hotel. The hotel was clean with a friendly staff. Hampton advertises a shuttle to the airport but do not tell you that there is a cost with very limited hours of transportation.
Great location and close to public transit to Munich. Having a parking garage under the hotel is a plus. The Italian restaurant across the street was pretty good too.
Staff were excellent - i had forgotten my phone and the room didnt have an alarm, but the receptionist came to the rescue with a 06:15 knock on the door. Much appreciated!
