"Overall, my stay at the Ritz-Carlton Nikko was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of the hotel's serene location by the lake, impressive interior, outstanding dining options, and top-notch service truly set it apart as a luxurious retreat that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a refined and relaxing getaway. My experience at this hotel has left me with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for the Ritz-Carlton brand."
"This hotel was perfect! Beautiful and comfortable rooms, had everything we needed. Staff were really lovely. Great location for exploring Nikko if you have a car."
"I absolutely loved this hotel. It was so beautiful, the onsen a bar and everything about it. The staff was amazing. I would definitely stay here again! Just know if you get dinner out go early and make sure you realize a lot of the great restaurants are off the main road!"
"We stayed here to cap off our 2 weeks in Japan and it was the perfect call. Nice and relaxing and pampering after Tokyo. Would come back here again and check out more of the Nikko area.
Staff were very kind. Facility was beautiful. All of the major shrines and temples are a walk away. "
"Quiet and relaxing onsen inn, an economic choice as well. A short walk up from a bus stop, with a lovely view of the lake. Great for a relaxing get away."
"We absolutely loved our stay here! The hot tub was spacious enough to stretch our legs, and it was a wonderful experience to have a private hot spring bath. We’re definitely planning to return for another stay!"
"My family enjoyed our stay in the large, comfortable, extremely tidy and well fit-out property. Although on our arrival it was hard to walk to (with suitcases) from Tobu-Nikko, and very few buses. Access was much easier when we hired a car. Close to small convenience store and short drive to grocery store. Best was the artificial hot spring bath. Thank you for hosting this lovely property."
"I used Chuzenji Kanaya hotel as a hikers stop. The walk up from the town was pretty and the hotel was very smart, clean and friendly.
The WiFi was poor but the full sized bath, comfortable bed and room facilities were all super. "
"We were off season, so was a little slow in town. The service was top notch. The Onsen onsite was nice. The dinner was amazing. The staff was wonderful and truly made the experience."
"I had a fantastic experience at Hotel Shikisai. The staff were extremely courteous and attentive, the food was excellent (we got the "basic" coursed meal and it was divine!) and the setting is gorgeous and peaceful. Hotel Shikisai has a cozy lived-in feel, but don't take this to mean it is well-worn or undesirable AT ALL. It has a sentimental charm. Picture your favorite old forest lodge (for me it brings up the many WPA lodges in National Parks and National Forests in the States). We had the...
"Amazing Ryokan held by a very nice couple. The kaiseki diner and breakfast were especially Amazing !! If you don’t mind using a public bathroom I totally recommend you this Ryokan 👍"
"We enjoyed our stay at Gasthof Ami very much. The local scenery is spectacular and the location of Gasthof Ami is excellent for enjoying the surrounding area. We only used public transit or walking while visiting the area and that worked great. Downtown Nikko is a pleasant 1 hour walk. Or if you want the bus, the stop is a 5 or 10 minute walk from the hotel. Places such as Kegan Falls, Lake Chuzenji, Yudaki and Yumoto are all easy to get to on the bus. The room was very spacious and clean....
"De passage à Nikko, nous avons passé une seule nuit dans ce charmant ryokan. L’accueil a été chaleureux. Nous avons profité d’une chambre traditionelle avec futon. Propre, spacieuse avec une bonne literie. Les plus de ce logement : le repas du soir et le petit déjeuner compris, très bons et très copieux. On a également pu profiter du onsen du ryokan, un avantage appréciable après une journée de visite. Je recommande vivement."
"Even though we were only at the house for one night, it was a very lovely stay. Nikko is gorgeous and the house allowed us to feel truly immersed in the culture. It’s relatively close to historical sites and Yoshiko was so kind to us. We had some delays and were rushed to reach the temple, but she drove us to ensure we had as much time as we could get. Would definitely stay again!"
"Very comfortable stay on the futon - it was lovely to hear the waterfalls from our room. Location was lovely - bit of a walk from the main town of Nikko, but it was fine for us!
The staff were charming and so helpful."
"Amazing experience! Onsen, rooms and allover environment was superb. The meals served were carefully prepared with an exquisite presentation.
Staff is very kind and helpful. They’ll shuttle you to and from Nikko station to the Ryokan as well as guide you to the bus that takes you to Keyon. falls.
In addition, the Ryokan plays calming music in the hallways and reception area. Gift shop is adorable and they add a special touch to putting your name on a plaque visible at the entry way into the...
