"The staff is great. We usually start our vacation in Mvd and this is a great location to walk around, shop, eat and sit in the rambla. Felt safe, well lit entrance and great breakfast. Hotel recently removed rugs improving the appearance. "

"Wonderful hotel and a great value. It has a storied history as Hotel Cervantes (famous writers like Borges and Cortazar stayed there), but it is newly renovated and very modern. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to major sights and great restaurants. If I return to Montevideo, I will stay there again."

"The Casablanca Hotel has a very collegial staff who take a lot of pride in the property. The hotel has a dining area with a microwave and an electric kettle that makes breakfast easy, and a spot where you can make a cup of coffee when you want. I was especially impressed with the housekeeping staff. Everyone spoke to this 73 old solo traveler and made me feel welcome. This is a quiet hotel in the middle of everything like fruit vendors, bakeries, and walks to La Rambla de Montevideo, and...
