"I had a wonderful stay at Oceana Portvillage for a night on Zamami Island. This place is simply out of a dream and I can not wait to return. Tsukasa, hotel management, was so helpful when I had to leave earlier than expected. A typhoon is coming to Okinawa and all ferries were set to be cancelled. Tsukasa was so helpful on organizing a way to get home safely. The hotel was close to Furuzumami Beach which was perfect for a sunrise hike. The hotel breakfast was so delicious. I can’t wait to return...

"We came to this hotel and this beach because it is known for sea turtles. My wife and I took turns snorkeling in the bay directly from the beach. We did not do a boat tour and talk to anyone about their location. On the second day while I was snorkeling in 5 feet of water approximately 30 feet from the beach I saw the first turtle eating off the ocean floor. I was startled to see it so close and was in awe of how beautiful it was. I assume the turtles are used to seeing snorkeling humans...
