"Good place to stay. It was clean and in a convenient location. The only thing that was a bit of a pain was the sound proofing. I believe people may live above floor two and they stayed up walking around until after midnight. Wouldn’t be a problem at all except there is no sound proofing in the room I was in. Other than that a fantastic place to stay and would recommend."

"A comfortable hotel to stay in. It is a little run down and lacks attention to detail (wallpaper peeling, rust on radiator that just need an enamel coating). I was disappointed that I booked a four poster room, but did not get a four poster bed. This should be updated on the website if the rooms have changed. I stayed for two nights in different rooms. In the twin room I received a couple of bottles of water, biscuits, and sweets which I thought was a nice touch. In the more expensive ‘four poster’ room I didn’t get any of these things. There was also no wardrobe, yet there was a wardrobe in the twin room which is a smaller room. The decor of the ‘four poster’ doesn’t seem to be able to decide what it is. The curtains, carpet, and side lamp have a Scottish feel, which goes with all the original wood, but then the ceiling lamp is rope (navy/sea theme) and the mirror and picture frame are an old manor house feel, it’s just a bit disjointed. And the tiny TV on the wall looks silly with the size of the room. The room has no hairdryer, iron or ironing board. I understand the attraction of running a staffless hotel, but this place feels like it needs a bit of care and attention, then it could be a little gem. Overall a comfortable stay, but I would look for somewhere else on my next trip to Scotland."

"Very nice hotel. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Bathroom was or very high spec. with everything you need. The staff were all very friendly and made stay welcoming. We dinned in the restaurant which had a good selection and very reasonable priced menu."

"The property is sweet and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The location close to town is perfect if you want to park and walk about. The best part is the host Gary who is full of information on the areas and happy to give ideas on what sites to visit. Sue prepares a lovely breakfast and Gary serves it at your preferred time."

"First off, this is not a hotel, it's lots of apartments. There are no onsite Highland Club restaurants, room service food or anything like it. The apartments are full on, proper homes with kitchens so bring some food, even if it's just basic stuff. For food shopping and eateries you can walk into the town in a few minutes and get something to eat. The pub (The Lock Inn) was pretty good. There is a restaurant in the grounds of the house which provided food which was edible but you wouldn't rush back in a hurry. As for the Highland Club, it's beautiful. Everything was built and is maintained to the highest standard. The pool is warm and clean. The grounds of the property are extensive and beautiful. The Internet is fast and reliable, the onsite staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. So, if you're looking for a traditional hotel, think twice before booking. If you're wanting to stay somewhere with all the historical character combined with comfort and cleanliness then do book."

"Cute little area next to the canal. Cafe/gift shop right downstairs. Parking is down the street. Room was very nice and clean. Bed was comfortable (not so much the pillows though). Shower had great water pressure. WiFi didn’t work, staff did not respond to our message. Poor cell service as well, so WiFi would have been nice."
