We didn’t use the amenities as we just needed a bed for the night and quick check-in and getaway. Location was great for us, close to a relative we were picking up before heading out to Manchester airport. We enjoyed chatting in (rusty) German with the friendly lady on the front desk. Forgot her name unfortunately. Would definitely use the hotel again and will recommend to other visitors coming to the area from overseas.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Its location was great for any Beatles fan, lots of close by gems. A shout out to Perry for his spot on recommendations for food and games and to Maria for her sincere hospitality, always with a smile. She went above and beyond making us feel welcomed. Thanks again
We drove up to the hotel I had booked and my partner was immediately disappointed to have arrived at a Holiday Inn located in an office park, but by day 4 of our visit to the Wigan area to visit friends and family, we both appreciated how great a spot we had found for our stay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and kind - esp. Ezra! The room had all the basic needs with the exception of a refrigerator which we really would have appreciated. The apartment is located in the shopping center, Liverpool One, which, while not unique (the ubiquitous Starbucks, Zara, etc.) , is convenient for getting to the local museums, Magical Mystery Tour, restaurants (we recommend Cosy, right next door), etc.
The location was tops! Right beside Albert Dock with a variety of good restaurants and places from which to get tickets for many tourist attractions. Also, the Beatles Story was there for a nice visit. We were lucky that the M&S Arena was right in front of our hotel, which was very convenient to see the Andre Rieu show, which was why we went to Liverpool from Puerto Rico.
This is a lovely historic hotel, centrally located. From the very beginning the staff was right there to make us feel welcome and cared for. It was easy to find your way in the hotel and the room was spacious, clean, beautiful and comfortable. There were thoughtful extras too. The bar and breakfast very good and a comfortable and elegant atmosphere. I would love to stay again!
I had a lovely stay! Cliff was a wonderful host and the breakfasts were very tasty. I was visiting Southport solo to see where my father was born. It's a cute town and this lodging is highly recommended.
