The guesthouse occupies three units in a row of townhouses. My family of three got a spacious room in the basement facing the street. There was some street noises in the morning, but they were tolerable. The house was dated, but the interior was well maintained. The bathroom looked recently renovated and clean. My wife and I had an excellent time at the Oxford Royal Hotel. It was our first time in Oxford and wanted a hotel close to bus and train stations. This hotel location was great for all our needs. Many restaurants were just a 5 minute walk up the street. Our bathroom was newly renovated and the beds were clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying here during your stay in Oxford.
Staying at Ye Olde Red Lion was a fun experience. It is probably the most unique place I've stayed with its blending of old, old and new and updated rooms. I would stay here again. We were in Arran Room which was very nice other than the mattress should be replaced. It is uncomfortable. The outside grounds need some cleaning and TLC, too. We loved staying here! There was a bus from the city center that drops you off right in front of the property. It is also only a 20-25 walk to the main city center with shops and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Everything was very clean and we loved the tray with teas and coffee. The communication was very smooth and we heard back promptly when we had questions. We loved our stay and would definitely come here again!
A truly delightful hotel in a convenient location with excellent staff and facilities. Impossible to fault overall - 2 tips… dont park under the trees in front of the building. I dont know what the birds eat, but they eat A LOT of it. Then theres steps….pack light, you’ll be hauling your luggage up a LOT of steps :-) - its a 13th century manor house, lifts werent a “thing” !
This hotel was very interesting, there are doors between the room in the hallway so it makes it very quiet. The room was very small but nice and clean. We did not eat here but it had a large dining room.
