The birding on the property was great, especially walking the road away from the highway (Scarlet Macaws and Howler Monkeys when we arrived!). The tower provided wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Abram was a great host who prepared delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. I found the mattresses to be a bit too firm, but our kids slept like rocks. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues, like a bathroom door that didn't fully close. But all in all I would stay there...

This was my retreat experience and was delighted by the place. I see that EXPEDIA rates it at 3 1/2 star but would consider this place much higher. The place is very new and decorated in a calm, simple but yet stylish way. The setting on the side of the mountain offers stunning views and the sound of the forest is so peaceful. so I loved this hotel the first few nights. But there is a lot of stuff that I need to warn others. There's nothing to do here besides a few nature walks. There is a lovely fireplace in each cabin and the cabins are lovely but there is a very very long and bumpy ride to get to the villa. I literally cringe thinking about this 45 minute road just to get access to the property. The service is great, the food is great but it's all very VERY expensive.
