If you're looking for a swank hotel, then this is not you're looking for. However, if you are looking for an excellent place to stay with gracious hosts and family, then this is a perfect spot in Tanabe. We stayed here on 10/24-25 to hike Kumano Kodo trail. Koushi and Chiyoko were extremely gracious hosts and treated us like family while we were there. They went "beyond the call of duty" to help us in finding a lost jacket left on the train and they made sure we were safe all along the way. ...

Being able to walk on the beach in 20 seconds is an absolute dream! We had such a wonderful stay here and Shirahama is such a cute town! The hotel was wonderful for our family of 4 with kids sleeping on traditional futons and two large twins available for us! There are partitions to separate the rooms. My only slight issue was wanting the futon room to be more blackout as the sun rises early! The housekeeping doesn’t clean everyday but they do drop off amenities. The hotel breakfast was...
