This was my first time in Italy and first time in Europe in 24 years. I chose this place because of the location not being close to the city and the great amenities. Located in a nice little town of 122 people with its own church next door, this hotel was perfect.

Although the furnishings may be outdated, and the castle is a good drive uphill on an Italian twisty-road… we were very happy with our stay here: it’s a castle room! We enjoyed it. Be prepared for bird song in the morning, and beautiful valley vistas. Bring your wine and snacks: there are no shops around! Breakfast was included and it was good. Parking is a bit downhill but on property. Add 15 minutes to your expected drive to all area attractions and you will be fine. Enjoy Giomici castle!
This hotel is fantastic! The balcony view of the Tuscan landscape and the Basilica was incredible. The twin bed was adequate and fit the theme of staying at a former monastery. The staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel has a chapel inside (it was a monastery) and that was an added treat. The main churches were easily accessible. I cannot imagine staying at a more beautiful place in Assisi than this hotel!
Beautiful, seculded hilltop estate with great view and beautiful grounds. Nice pool. Hosts were warm and inviting and dinner of regional cuisine was good. Rooms are large and relatively sparse with minimal amenities, and beware there is no A/C. Breakfast was simple. They produce award winning olive oil available for purchase.
Hotel Sole was a complete surprise. We booked budget friendly accommodations that were simple, but this place was super clean, well appointed with a surprising amount of space for a 4 person family room in Europe! The shower had good water pressure and stayed hot for 4 showers, the bathroom was small but had everything we needed. To top it off the location was incredible! Assisi is a wonderful medieval town, and Hotel Pax is a cozy, friendly, and well-run place to stay there. My girlfriend and I were the only guests on our first night there, and the owner stayed late to check us in, as we had a bit of trouble getting there on the bus system. She was extremely friendly and helpful, and she told us some of the town's and hotel's history as we ate breakfast. Located on central square but high enough above it to be peaceful. Service friendly and proper. Feels like staying in a family home. Afternoon tea and pastry--help yourself. Good breakfast.
