"We stayed in the main house as I had read poor reviews for the lodges. Our room overlooked the river and mill wheel which was lovely. The room was clean and tidy but the bathroom was a little dated."

Also, on check out we were advised there is a ‘discretionary’ payment for the maintenance and housekeeping staff per night that didn’t sit well with me. I think you should be pre warned that you will be asked to do this as it’s quite embarrassing saying no and feels awkward that you are asked to pay towards the staff. If I want to pay housekeeping I leave money in the room. "
