My room was spacious, well lit, clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location was excellent, walking distance to shopping and many dining establishments as well as museums in Bergen. "This was a pleasant surprise, first time at Citybox, and everything was simple and straight forward. Great communication on all steps of the process, booking to check out. All self serve process, couldn’t have been easier. Able to store luggage after check out, and cafe adjoined to the place. It was great!"
"The room was clean, but it was smaller than I expected, too hot, and looking a bit tired. Not like the pictures we had seen when booking. It could do with some redecoration as the paint was coming off, and the light fitting was falling off the ceiling. The bed was very uncomfortable. As there's no air conditioning, and there is no temperature control, the only way to cool the room is to open the window. It was on a busy street, with the usual level of noise you'd expect in that situation, which made sleeping very difficult. There's no storage space in the room other than a clothes rail.
The bathroom was clean and the shower was good.
The gym was terrible. Not maintained at all. There was no water. The treadmills were in desperate need of a service, as the belt was loose and slipping which made it dangerous to use. The equipment was poor. It was dimly lit, and clearly forgotten about.
The staff were very polite, however when we asked for milk in the room for a cup of coffee on arrival it didn't appear.
The breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and a nice setting.
We had dinner in the hotel which was disappointing. It was more like pub food than restaurant quality.
Being in a busy part of the city, there were plenty of amenities around. It is very close to the harbour and the tourist areas, and there are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The transport links are also excellent.
Bergen is a lovely city and I'd go back, but probably not to the Bergen Børs, unfortunately."
