Being a working, family-owned winery gave the property a unique charm and authentic atmosphere. The accommodation itself was fabulous — comfortable, stylish, and beautifully maintained. The hotel is a short 10-15-minute drive to Campo do Geres, where we went on a great hike (Cidade da Calcedónia trail) followed by a terrific drive through the park, along the Rio Homem (lake) to the Spanish border, and back down N-308-1. Wonderful team. Great food. Big rooms. If you are in the Camino they will even pick you up from nearby routes. Note they are creasing this lovely eco farm so some areas are a work in progress. The owner is so special. Ask her about what she led in Porto before she and her family began creating their dream Ecopeneda. - impressive was in Porto their Big nature gardens … Great hiking and exploring lovely towns.
