Two bathrooms, two washer/dryers, two kitchen/dining spaces and a large outdoor area were absolute luxury after the small hotel rooms we had been staying in. The location is great. It was an easy walk to Pontocho alley, Nishiki market and the Gion district and vey close to the subway to jump on trains to other locations we wanted to visit. "

Perfect location for shopping, Nishiki market, fabulous restaurants, etc. all walkable. The Bettei side is higher end with more in room and property amenities. I highly recommend this hotel. "

It is not a material luxury experience (there are many others who fit this expectation), so much as an unintentional unmannicured view into the past of old Kyoto. Very dreamy for me at least!. Everyone was incredibly friendly and they were able to provide us with late check out (with a fee) that was very helpful for our late departure time.
