10/10 Excellent
"Lovely place, bit underwhelmed by the breakfast choices & disappointed to find that I couldn’t smoke on the roof on my own, but nonetheless the rooms were well appointed, the location was great and the communal spaces were all delightful. "
"Everything about this place was amazing, it was a highlight of my trip! Wonderful staff in a beautifully designed stylish hotel. I loved the design and attention to detail within the rooms and as an Expedia member I was given a complimentary cocktail on arrival. The host and the server were so friendly and kind and when I had travel difficulties they gave me a complimentary coffee too. I would highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely go back. It's a perfect place for female solo travellers. A must if you're travelling in Santa Marta or across Colombia. "
"The staff was always friendly and willing to help. The breakfast was delicious. The room was spotless and the location was super convinient walking distance from the historical santa marta and the parque de los novios. We will be going back for sure!!! Gracias Soy Local Santa Marta. La pasamos super!!"
"Perfect staff and location, gorgeous building. Staff made us feel like valued family members! Senior Perez doted on us at breakfasts (which were delicious) and was so kind - he even packed up a huge lunch for us to take hiking! When one of our excursions failed to pick us on on time, the front desk phoned the excursion company and when the driver did come, THREE staff members came out to scold him and even wrote down the license number for our added safety! Hotel itself is a historic landmark (Simon Bolivar's remains were held in the dining room for a short period!) and our room was spacious, comfortable, lots of AC. Location of hotel is perfect - just a minute from the boardwalk, five minutes from the pier where excursions depart, and one minute from the "zona restaurante" which is full of vendors and all kinds of restaurants and bars (including vegetarian options). A few things to note about the room: there isn't an elevator, so unless you are on the ground floor, you need to be ok with stairs; you won't get a steaming hot shower (common issue in Colombia); our room had a rather "open" bathroom (with a frosted glass partition but no door for full privacy). Also note that the rooftop pool is really used by pigeons - it would be nice if the hotel kept it covered so it would be clean for guests - but the lobby pool is very sweet, especially in the morning when it is partially in sun (but is not heated so not so lovely in the evening when it is in shade). Great pina coladas!
