OUTSTANDING! This was a perfect place for our stay in Ecuador. We were interested in educating ourselves more about the Ecuadorian culture, the environment, the lifestyle and the future of this community. Carlos and Doreen are wonderful hosts, (they both speak English and Spanish) but they also are educators for their guests and their community. This hacienda has great character and is a fine example of the people and culture of Ecuador. This place is no Ritz, but that was exactly why I liked it. It's rustic and original, not genuine-imitation like most Americans are used to. The floors creaked, the bed creaked, the bathrooms are spartan but spotlessly clean. The grounds and gardens were naturally beautiful, and the pool area looked inviting, although my schedule didn't allow for that indulgence. I'm planning on that for my next visit.
This hotel is a true mirage, highly recommend! The property is beautiful, very well maintained, and the service is impeccable, probably the best my husband and I ever had. We travel quite a lot and we were truly impressed by this gem of the hotel and by people who work there.
A charming hacienda with beautiful grounds. It is showing its age in places but is generally well-maintained. Thoroughly enoyed the fireplaces for cool mornings/evenings in the restaurant, drawing room, and our room. Service was excellent. The horseback ride with Ubertero was a highlight of our stay. A great place to stay in the Otovalo area.
What a beautiful and relaxing place. There's an excellent staff, a tasty restaurant on site, and many things to do if your decide to hang out on the grounds. It was a very romantic setting with incredible attention to detail. The gardens are amazing. The room was comfortable. They built a fire each night in our room and provided cool hot water bottles to go under the blankets at night, though we never found it particularly cold when we went in October.

Property was beautiful and secluded. Amazing views. Excellent service. Very accommodating. Very romantic. Everything was perfect. Excellent food from restaurant as well.
