Ray met us for check-in and gave us an overview of the property as well as great things to see on the island. Super nice guy and a really charming property. Bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen had a complementary list of resources, including water and juice in the fridge and a bottle of wine to welcome us.
Beach towels were provided and the location is within a few minutes walk to the bus terminals which will allow for easy access throughout the island.

Our stay in March was just so lovely. The staff was extremely helpful. The location is ideal... not even a 2min walk to the beach, a breakfast spot next door, and three restaurants at varying price points on the same block.

The most magical, beautiful place I’ve ever stayed. If you’re ever in Auckland, treat yourself one night to this beautiful cottage - and ask for the Olive Cottage if possible! You get a private path right to the vineyard/ restaurant! Everything was just perfect during our stay. And the sunsets are breathtaking. Plus the amazing staff leaves fresh breakfast for you each day!
Sweet golf resort 40 minutes from Central Auckland. Andy and his staff are great, the villas have nice views of the water, restaurant chef and food are top tier, and the golf course is challenging, but a lot of fun.
Great accommodation. Cat welcomed us at the lobby and checked us in early as the room was already available. We also got free parking through Expedia VIP access. The 2 bedroom was very spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. The washer/dryer also worked perfectly.
Starland looks and probably is a remodeled Condo/AirBnb type development, so it has all the usual pluses and minuses that come with it. In other words, expect more of a rental unit type situation than either a hotel or motel. That being said, the remodeling was nicely done, the facilities are clean and secure, the beds are comfortable and best of all it is within a stone's throw of the Sylvia Park Mall. The price is affordable too, so if you want a no-frills and budget-friendly apartment unit...
