This was our second stay. Both times were wonderful. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We tried several things on the menu at the restaurant during our two week stay and found that everything is prepared with fresh ingredients and looks as good as it tastes. The restaurant staff filled our insulated cups and ice bag with ice every day.

Great property, beautiful location. I would say that they would need to allow some form of partnership with a taxi company or private service for those who want to be out past 10pm when the shuttle stops. I love that the staff will book excursions for you and allow you to make the most of your experience. I do think there is room for an all inclusive for the guests. Although I still paid separately to try each of the restaurants, I think there should at least be an option.

This hotel is everything! Our room was as beach front as you can get and we loved mornings and evenings on the patio. I can’t say enough good things about the staff. Every single person, including the owners of the property, were so welcoming and friendly…even the 24-hour security guards (we never felt unsafe the entire time on the island but it was just a little peace of mind). We made our plans at the last minute and found the West Bay Lodge through Expedia. We booked two rooms, one for us and one for the kids.
We received an email shortly after booking asking about our plans, any special requests, etc. I thought that was nice. Since we were staying over the course of a week the hotel had a driver meet us at the airport and drive us to the lodge.

This was my first time here but won't be my last! Beautiful room without the noise of a big hotel..I loved my beautiful private balcony and the staff are wonderful! I even ran into the bartender off duty and she came up to me.. Super pleasant and let me know if my group wanted to join them or needed anything.. Now that is great customer service!
We thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay at Puerta Azul in July 2022. Talia and her staff were always helpful and friendly. Puerta Azul was an ideal place to relax and unwind, as it was located in Sandy Bay away from the busy resorts and cruise ship traffic. This place was fantastic! It had everything you needed so you wouldn’t need to go off property! The owners were very communicative via WHATS app and made check in super quick so we could start enjoying our vacation. The food and drinks were awesome. Definitely will stay here again on our next trip! A huge shout out to all the staff as they were very warm and called us each by our name .. we felt at home.

The property was incredibly convenient, excellent location central to West Bay. Easy access to loads of dinning options, activities and services. Beach front bar is epic and pool side oasis is incredibly relaxing. Service was above and beyond what we expected, hard working staff puts in long hours to ensure a good experience, specificity Jose, Edwin (wait staff) Bret Fisher (activities) and Allan Brian (security)
The West Bay Colonial hotel itself was good, but it was the staff that made it an excellent experience. From the moment Will picked us up from the airport until George took us back, every staff member at the hotel was very accommodating and friendly. The only downside to the hotel was that there was no alcohol served on-site, but there were several places just across the street and down on the beach (which was a quick 2 minute walk).
My family and I stayed here for seven days. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Carlos, the manager was amazing , the DJ at bar, Jack kept us laughing and entertained at the pool bar even made our kids chocolate shakes..everyone was so kind and attentive to our needs. They also offer room service which the kids loved having breakfast at their room every morning. We will definitely be staying here when we visit Roatan again. .I arrived at Upachaya in a state of mental and physical exhaustion. This is a fabulous place to unwind and de-stress. I curled up on the porch for two weeks and spent most afternoons simply reading and/or writing. I enjoyed falling asleep listening to the tree frogs and the men fishing in the bay.
